Still non-partisan. We don’t take sides and we work with candidates of every stripe — we just won’t sell the same ward twice.

Who owns the door-knocking data?+
Your campaign does: every knock, note and supporter. It lives in your campaign's own database, stored in Canada. Export it all as a spreadsheet whenever you like, and if you ask us to delete it, we delete it completely within 7 days.
Can other campaigns — or my opponent — see my data?+
No — and in your ward, they can't even buy KnockList. We sell one campaign per ward, whoever signs up first, so for as long as you're a customer nobody else running in your ward can sign up. Beyond that, every campaign runs as its own isolated instance with its own private database, so no campaign can ever see another's data.
What if my ward is already taken?+
Then we can't sell to you this cycle — the campaign that got there first has it for as long as they're a customer. Email matt@knocklist.ca and we'll tell you if it opens up. Every other ward is first come, and we're non-partisan: we don't take sides, we just won't sell the same ward twice.
What happens after election day?+
You choose: cancel (most campaigns do), export everything first, or keep running — plenty of councillors keep door-knocking between elections. If you cancel and leave no instructions, we email your data to you and delete the instance after 60 days.
Is my city covered?+
We're live for the 2026 municipal elections, with every residential door loaded by ward. Use the “find your city” search above: if it's live you can start right now, and if it's not yet, you can request it — we'll get your city set up, usually within days.
How long does setup take?+
Under 10 minutes, start to finish, and it's automatic. You answer a few questions (all optional), we build your campaign's private app with every door in your ward already loaded, and your app arrives by email, ready to use.
Can I use my voters' list?+
Yes. Upload the file your clerk gives you and we match every elector to a door, so volunteers see who lives there before they knock. The Municipal Elections Act sets rules for every copy of that list, and we handle our share: written acknowledgement by email when you upload, a blank form for anyone else you share it with, and one tap to destroy everything it added.
What can my volunteers see?+
That's your choice. Volunteers always see a door's status, and never the voters' list itself. You can limit them to door status only, so how a resident said they'd vote, their notes and what they asked for stay with you and your fellow admins. Helping for one night only? Add someone as a guest and their access ends at midnight by itself.
What if we lose signal at the door?+
Nothing stops. Open the app once where there's signal and your whole ward saves to the phone. After that the door list, the knock sheet and your walking order keep working with no bars, and anything you record uploads by itself when signal comes back. You can close the app or restart the phone without losing a knock.
Is KnockList available in French?+
Yes. Everything a volunteer sees works in French, and each person picks their own language with one tap. Sign-in code emails go out in both languages, and session notices reach each volunteer in the language they read. Street and neighbourhood names stay exactly as the City publishes them, so they still match the sign and the mailbox.
Do my volunteers need training?+
No. It's one tap per door, and most volunteers get it in under a minute. No training night needed.
